Cookie Policy
Which cookies we use and how you can control them
This Cookie Policy explains how DevicesFinder.com ("DevicesFinder", "we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website, why we use them, and the choices you have. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more generally.
Effective date: October 29, 2026
1. At a glance
Strictly necessary: sign-in cookies set by our authentication provider (Clerk) and bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile) help you sign in and keep the site secure.
Preferences: your light or dark theme choice is stored in your browser's local storage. If you choose the Auto theme, an approximate location is kept on your device only.
Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used and to improve it.
Advertising and measurement: we use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and the TikTok Pixel, and we use or may use Google AdSense and other third-party advertising partners.
Affiliate links: some shop links may be affiliate links, and the retailer or network may set its own cookies after you click through.
Embedded videos: YouTube videos load through youtube-nocookie.com and only after you click play.
Your choices: you can block or delete cookies in your browser and use the opt-out tools listed in section 7. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop sign-in from working.
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device through your browser. They let a site recognise your device, remember settings and, for some providers, measure usage or advertising performance. We also use or refer to similar technologies:
Cookies: text files set by us (first-party) or by other companies whose services run on our pages (third-party). They may last only until you close your browser (session cookies) or for a set period (persistent cookies).
Pixels (tracking pixels and tags): small pieces of code or tiny images loaded from a provider that report that a page was viewed, usually together with a cookie or similar identifier.
Local storage: a browser feature that keeps small amounts of data on your device until you clear it. Unlike cookies, local storage values are not sent to a server with every request.
Service worker cache: a browser cache named
devicesfinder-v2that stores some site files on your device so pages can load faster and certain content can be available offline. We do not use push notifications.
3. Categories of cookies and technologies we use
3.1 Strictly necessary
These are needed to provide a feature you request or to keep the site secure. They do not depend on analytics or advertising choices.
Clerk authentication cookies (
__sessionand__client_uat*): set by Clerk, our third-party sign-in provider, so that you can sign in, stay signed in and manage your account.Cloudflare Turnstile: a bot-protection check shown at sign-up and sign-in. It helps us tell people from automated traffic and may use limited technical data from your browser for that purpose.
3.2 Preferences
Theme mode (
df-theme-mode, local storage): remembers whether you prefer a light or dark theme.Theme coordinates (
df-theme-coords, local storage): used only if you choose the Auto theme. Your browser then asks for permission to share your approximate location so the site can work out local sunrise and sunset and switch themes accordingly. This value stays on your device and is never sent to us. If you decline the request, the Auto theme cannot use your location.
3.3 Analytics
Google Analytics 4 (
_ga,_ga_<id>): helps us understand which pages are visited and how the site performs. IP anonymisation is enabled. Web performance metrics (Web Vitals) are also sent to Google Analytics.Microsoft Clarity (
_clck,_clsk): provides heatmaps and session replays that show how visitors interact with pages, so we can find and fix usability problems.
3.4 Advertising and measurement
Meta (Facebook) Pixel (
_fbp): used to measure and improve the performance of advertising.TikTok Pixel (
_ttp): used to measure and improve the performance of advertising.Google AdSense and other third-party advertising partners: we use or may use these services to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Tag management: we may add tag snippets, such as Google Tag Manager, to manage the services above. Any cookies they set fall under the category of the service they load.
Under some laws, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA/CPRA), sharing data with advertising cookies and pixels for cross-context behavioural advertising may be treated as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. See our Privacy Policy for how to opt out.
3.5 Affiliate
Some outbound shop links on DevicesFinder may be affiliate links, which can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. When you click through to a retailer or affiliate network, that third party may set its own cookies to attribute the visit. We do not control those cookies; please see the retailer's or network's own cookie policy. Sponsored placements are labelled "Sponsored". Advertising and affiliate relationships do not decide our ratings, specifications or editorial verdicts.
3.6 Embedded content
Videos from YouTube are embedded using the youtube-nocookie.com domain and load only when you click play. Video thumbnails are served from img.youtube.com. Once you play a video, YouTube may process information about your viewing under Google's own policies. Our fonts are hosted on our own servers, so we do not make font requests to Google Fonts.

5. First-party and third-party cookies
First-party cookies and storage are set by DevicesFinder.com, such as the theme settings and the service worker cache. Third-party cookies are set by other companies whose services run on our pages or whom you visit through our links, such as Clerk, Cloudflare, Google, Microsoft, Meta, TikTok, advertising partners, YouTube, and retailers. These companies decide how their cookies work and are responsible for their own policies. Several of them are located outside Bangladesh, including in the United States, so information collected through their cookies may be processed in other countries.
6. Google Consent Mode
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, our Google services run with Google Consent Mode v2 set to "denied" by default. Elsewhere, consent signals are set to "granted" by default. Consent Mode is a signal Google uses to adjust how its tags behave; it does not by itself remove other cookies described in this policy.
7. How to control cookies
7.1 Browser settings
Most browsers let you view, block and delete cookies. Instructions for common browsers:
You can clear local storage and cached site data from the same browser settings.
7.2 Analytics and advertising opt-outs
Google Ads Settings, to manage or turn off personalised ads from Google
aboutads.info/choices (Digital Advertising Alliance, for users in the United States)
youronlinechoices.eu (for users in Europe)
Meta ad preferences, available in your Facebook or Instagram account settings under ad preferences
TikTok ad preferences, available in the TikTok app or website settings under ads and personalisation
These tools are run by third parties, and we cannot guarantee how they work. If you are a California resident, you can also email us as described in our Privacy Policy.
7.3 Location for the Auto theme
You can deny or revoke the browser's location permission for DevicesFinder.com at any time, or choose the light or dark theme instead of Auto. Clearing site data removes df-theme-coords from your device.
8. What happens if you disable cookies
You can still browse prices, specifications, comparisons and articles if you block non-essential cookies. If you block strictly necessary cookies, you may be unable to sign in, post reviews or manage your account. Clearing local storage resets your theme choice. Blocking advertising cookies does not remove ads; it may make them less relevant to you.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our services, providers or legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date at the bottom of this page shows when it was last revised. Where required by law, we will give additional notice of material changes.
