Overview

Choosing between an older iPhone and a new Google Pixel isn’t easy in Bangladesh. I used the iPhone XR and Pixel 9 daily for over few weeks same SIMs, same routes, same usage. Calls, gaming, photos, battery stress, everything. The Pixel 9 felt clearly more modern, faster, and more reliable overall, especially for camera, battery stability, and future updates. The iPhone XR still feels solid and smooth for basic use, but its age shows in battery life, display quality, and network limits. In this comparison, I’ll share my hands-on experience with price reality, gaming, network, camera, display, and who should buy which phone.

Compare Apple iPhone XR and Google Pixel 9 Price in BD

The price difference didn’t become clear to me online, it became clear while standing inside Bashundhara City. One shopkeeper handed me an iPhone XR and immediately said, “Battery health 82%, price will change if you want higher.” In the next shop, the same phone looked cleaner but had a replaced display. That’s the reality of buying iPhone XR in Bangladesh today.

I checked Jamuna Future Park and local Mohammadpur stores as well, and the story was the same. The iPhone XR is no longer officially sold, so every unit is unofficial, used, or refurbished. The Google Pixel 9 felt different. Most sellers offered sealed or lightly used imported units with far more predictable condition. The XR may look cheaper, but long-term reliability is uncertain, while Pixel 9’s higher price comes with fewer surprises.

Grey Market Reality for Bangladeshi Buyers

From my market checks, iPhone XR units often come with battery wear or replaced parts that sellers don’t mention upfront. Pixel 9 felt safer internally, but lacks official warranty support. iPhone XR risks condition, Pixel 9 risks service.

Compare Gaming Performance of Apple iPhone XR vs Google Pixel 9

I played PUBG, COD Mobile, and some Genshin Impact on both phones for long sessions, often in warm rooms without AC. The iPhone XR still runs PUBG and COD smoothly on medium settings, but after 30–40 minutes it gets warm and frame drops start to appear. Pixel 9 feels more stable during long gaming. COD Mobile stayed smoother, and Genshin ran better on balanced settings with less throttling. Later, when I checked performance references, my experience matched the data, Pixel 9 holds performance longer.

Battery Health Reality

My iPhone XR unit drained faster during gaming due to battery aging. Pixel 9 kept stable battery performance even after long sessions.

Display Quality Comparison of Apple iPhone XR & Google Pixel 9

The display difference didn’t hit me while watching videos, it hit me on the street. Using Google Maps under the midday sun, Pixel 9 stayed readable, while the iPhone XR forced me to tilt the phone and raise brightness again and again. After that, the gap became obvious in daily use.

  • Overall panel feel: iPhone XR’s LCD panel looks fine indoors, but Pixel 9’s OLED display feels richer with deeper blacks and stronger contrast.

  • Outdoor use in Bangladesh: Pixel 9 remains clear under harsh sunlight, iPhone XR struggles and often needs hand shading.

  • Text and sharpness: Long reading sessions feel cleaner on Pixel 9, XR text appears slightly soft over time.

  • Video experience: Dark scenes and colors look more detailed on Pixel 9, iPhone XR videos feel flatter.

  • Night comfort: Pixel 9 feels gentler on the eyes during late scrolling, XR’s backlight feels stronger.

  • Daily impression: Pixel 9 simply feels more modern and comfortable for everyday use.

Camera Comparison of Apple iPhone XR & Google Pixel 9

I used both cameras daily street shots, family photos, food, and low-light scenes. The difference was clear very quickly. iPhone XR still delivers pleasing colors in daylight, but Pixel 9 feels far more reliable in all conditions.

  • Daylight: iPhone XR captures natural colors, but Pixel 9 produces sharper images with better dynamic range and less effort.

  • Low light & night: iPhone XR struggles with noise and focus, Pixel 9 gives brighter, cleaner shots consistently.

  • HDR handling: Pixel 9 balances sky and shadows better, iPhone XR often loses details in tricky lighting.

  • Video & stabilization: Both are stable, but Pixel 9 feels smoother while walking.

  • Consistency: Pixel 9 is a point-and-shoot camera, iPhone XR often needs multiple tries.

Network & Connectivity Comparison Apple iPhone XR and Google Pixel 9

I tested both phones using Grameenphone, Robi, Airtel, and Banglalink. For calls, both are clear, but Pixel 9 holds signal better indoors. On 4G LTE, Pixel 9 gave more stable data speeds during busy hours. iPhone XR sometimes dropped speeds in crowded areas. Pixel 9 also supports 5G network, which isn’t everywhere yet but matters for the future. Wi-Fi performance on Pixel 9 felt more consistent, especially on busy home networks. Compared to newer phones, XR clearly falls behind in network capability now.

Key Real-World Differences of Apple iPhone XR & Google Pixel 9

  • Google Pixel 9 feels faster in daily tasks; iPhone XR feels smooth but slower

  • Pixel 9 battery gives peace of mind; iPhone XR needs frequent charging

  • Camera reliability is much higher on Pixel 9

  • Apple iPhone XR still feels premium in hand, but tech feels old

  • Pixel 9 is clearly more future-proof for Bangladesh users

Which One Should You Buy

If you want long-term value, better camera, stable battery, and future network support, Pixel 9 is the better choice. Choose iPhone XR only if budget is limited and you prefer iOS.

Editor's Verdict

After one month of real use, Pixel 9 suits most Bangladeshi users today. iPhone XR still works, but age, battery wear, and network limits reduce its value.
